The persecution levels increased significantly in 2021, especially among foreign migrant workers. The threats against conversions included imprisonment for converts from Islam. All this while the regime desperately attempts to show itself off as an open-minded administration. The changes announced or implemented are superficial or cosmetic at best.
Saudi Arabia remains as oppressive as it was in the last decade. Open Doors Watchlist places Saudi Arabia at 11th position in 2022, moving it up to three places from 2021.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to penetrate into the hearts of the Saudi Royals and prepare them to accept the Gospel message (The Bible, Acts 9).
